FAQs
What is occupational therapy?
Occupational therapists empower their clients to “live life to the fullest” (AOTA.) We do that by helping people participate in all the occupations with which you identify- this could include work, leisure, sleep/rest, health maintenance, education, self-care, driving, and regular “adulting” tasks such as household chores, etc. We look at the fit between:
What motivates a client, what are their values/beliefs regarding their occupations and roles
Their physical and social environment and how supportive it is of occupational engagement
The demands and activities associated with the occupation itself
A person’s physical, mental, and cognitive skills
Our approach is not illness driven- we don’t just attempt to “fix” what a person cannot do because of an illness or condition, and we look at what a person wants to be able to do and how best to support that.

Will you meet me at my home for treatments?
Yes, if you’re in the SW suburbs! I am regularly visiting clients in Naperville, Aurora, Oswego, West Chicago and other nearby locations.
If you’re in Chicagoland but outside of this area and / or would prefer to meet virtually, we can determine the best combination of in-person and telehealth sessions based on your needs.
We can also conduct all sessions via telehealth if you’re in Illinois but outside the greater Chicago area.
